Adios, Llanes!

This post was written on Thursday, 7/2 about the group’s adventures this week.

¡Hola!

On Monday, we had the opportunity to explore Llanes further with a lively scavenger hunt before an afternoon on the beach. Everyone enjoyed learning how to surf in the refreshing Cantabrian Sea! Thanks to our charismatic instructors, students became pros in Spanish surfing lingo!

After a hearty breakfast at the hotel on Tuesday, we headed for the hills: Covadonga! First we visited and hiked around the beautiful lakes found in the Picos de Europa national park, and then we had the opportunity to discover the basilica and nearby grotto.

Wednesday, we took to the river in 2-person kayaks! While the water was brisk, the fun was non-stop! Some even took a dip in the Rio Sella!

Today, we arrived in our hotel in Potes, where we are surrounded by snow-capped mountains. This evening we are looking forward to a BBQ by the pool and some fun language activities! Then it’s early to bed for our early hike tomorrow. More soon!

Hasta pronto,
