La Alhambra & more in Granada!

This blog post features student writing.

¡Hola!

Wow, what a day! Today we woke up for an early breakfast at 7:30am, then headed out to La Alhambra. This Arabic-influenced fortress was originally built in the late 800s, but was later converted into a palace in the 1300s by the Sultan of Granada. La Alhambra contains beautifully intricate architecture and offers breathtaking views of Granada.

By early afternoon we headed out for lunch and free time in the city, then returned to the hotel for a siesta (or nap) to rest and reflect on our exciting morning. Around 5:30pm, we walked through the city and arrived at an Arabic bathhouse. With its tranquil ambiance and pools with six different temperatures to bathe in, the experience was both unique and serene. We finished our time there with a 15-minute massage per person, which was definitely a highlight of the day!

After showering, we completed our Arabic-themed day with a Moroccan dinner. We ate a myriad of authentic cuisine, including couscous and mint lemonade. It was delicious!

All in all, the day was both exciting and exhausting, and we were all too ready for bed at 11pm.

¡Hasta luego!
